Alexander Kent is the pen name of the British author, Douglas Reeman. He wrote many historical novels apart from fictional and crime mystery thrillers. A lot of his novels on World War II around the Royal Navy were much appreciated by the audience. He altogether wrote 68 novels and had as many as 34 million copies sold worldwide. His novels were also translated into 20 different languages and that shows the class and demand of the author in the literary fraternity. Michael Jayston is the narrator of the audio version. He did an excellent job narrating this novel and made it worth your time.

A company of a 28-gun frigate was despatched on a high profile secret mission. They must come across several hazards of treason, conspiracy, and piracy before they could ever come close to achieving their objectives. Richard Bolitho is a third lieutenant recently appointed and he must learn to take charge of all his responsibilities as in the capacity of a King’s officer.

You will love this book for its impeccable writing and even strong characters. The performance of Michael Jayston was outstanding. You will adore his accent which very much adds to the British flavor and make this novel even more worth listening. The American accent lover would have no problem at all as it sounds quite neutral and immensely enjoyable.
