Unexpected things happen in every suspense thriller which Sidney Sheldon creates with the help of creative genius. Stories lead the audience to the dungeons where there is no escape. The characters just fell deeper and deeper into mysteries and to get out they are asked to use all their talent at the same time. Even when the characters emerge victoriously they do lose something precious after which they are never the same later on.
Commander Robert Bellamy is given a mission to track down a NATO weather balloon and he thinks that the task is not quite difficult. He has faced more serious circumstances in the past as compared to this one.
When he is about to leave for Switzerland village, he is told that there is something quite precious linked to the cargo. So there is a hint for the soldier that he is not going on an ordinary ride at all. The journey does not seem to be tough but at the sight where the balloon landed, there happens to be a lot of suspense.
More and more people get linked to the scene and a couple of surprises just ruin the peace of the place. Old friends emerge as enemies for Robert Bellamy and he is really surprised to notice the urgency in the actions of the opponents.
David Dukes has narrated action awesomely well in all the chapters and the taste of suspense just never lessens. Rage of Angels and Master of the Game also never lacked the element of conspiracy in them but this novel promotes this one thing to the maximum.
