Jack Campbell takes us to the world of Dematr this time that is ruled by two mighty groups, the Mages and the Mechanics. The two groups are presented as arch rivals in the novel and as this first part goes one thing becomes clear that the two cannot unite on a single thing. Even when the fate of the world depends on their unity the two groups still seize to co-exist. The storm is approaching and it is predicted that it possesses the power to eradicate the humans from the face of the planet forever.

There is unlikely hero in the form of a girl who is working to unite the people because for her this is the only way they can tackle things. The girl instead of getting praises and help gets the wrath of the two groups in plenty.

    The Dragons of Dorcastle

Most of the people assume that she is a threat to their existence so the tension of all sorts is in the air. Mari and Alain belong to the two different guilds and meet by mere chance and then one after another incident and accident brings them close together.

Alain in a short span of time realizes that Mari is the girl for which the prophesy had been there since the beginning of time and it is up to her to save both of the guilds. Mari on the other hand cannot resist the temptation of love which her guild has always warned her about. The story has love along with a promise of action in the future thus listening to it along with The Hidden Masters of Marandur and The Assassins of Altis is the right choice to make. MacLeod Andrews has done a great job by narrating the novel in that famous tone of his because of which he is famous worldwide.
