The Overlook: Harry Bosch Series, Book 13 is a suspenseful mystery thriller. It is authored by Michael Connelly. This American author is known for his great command in crime fiction and the mystery-thriller genre. If that is what you prefer then The Last Coyote: Harry Bosch Series, Book 4 will be a superb literary experience for you. The same can also be expected from his The Black Box novel.
The narration of this book is done by Len Cariou. The cadence of the narrator seemed to be odd while his voice overall was just fine.
A dead body was discovered just on the overlook that was next to Mulholland Drive. The victim in that incident was identified as Dr. Stanley. He received a couple of gunshots in the back of his head. It appeared to be more of an execution type of shooting. Harry Bosch, the LAPD detective was called out to investigate this case.
As soon as Harry Bosch started to retrace the steps of Dr. Stanley, plenty of contradictions emerged. Doctor Stanley didn’t have any sort of connections with any organized crime. But, one thing he did had was his access to some of the most treacherous radioactive substances. Those were accessible to him in almost every other hospital of Los Angeles County. The case that began for harry Bosch initially as a routine homicide investigation turned into something much bigger. It was a lot more dangerous as well with a sense of urgency.
This is an excellent thriller. You will find this one unlike several other Harry Bosch novels as it doesn’t involve a gruesome crime to the extent that most of us are used to in this series.
