The first captivating part made the listeners furious for the caliph who was killing the girls of the town mercilessly. Then the sixteen year old Shahrzad came and survived the first night with which she started to describe the boy-king in a different way. Though the girl herself came to kill the king but then she smelled suspicious things in the palace that might be beyond caliph’s control.
There was a curse that stopped her and Khalid to be together and now she is back to her family with the truth hidden in her heart. Along with Shahrzad is her old friend, the boy she once loved in childhood and her father who wants to bring the rule of the caliph down. Tariq too has a huge army to destroy the caliph forever.
Standing in the center of all this, the wife of Khalid just cannot betray him at all. She knows what is at stake thus in order to stop the magic that her father is about to bring in the land she takes the help of the old carpet and runs towards her husband who needs her. Totally changed scenario is presented in this second part by Renee Ahdieh, the one who was bound to kill Khalid in The Wrath and the Dawn is now trying to save him.
Ariana Delawari also changes the tone for Shahrzad to show that she is really in love with her husband. At some parts we do get the taste of The Damned especially in the scenes where the poor caliph is shown bound to the curse that he cannot break no matter how much he tries.
