Harlan Coben tells the true meaning of home as we go through the sad and gloomy tale of the two abducted boys. The story is thrilling throughout and the listener gets no chance to relax for a few scenes and concentrate on any other affair. Myron Bolitar series now crosses the “ten” mark as this is the eleventh book but the efforts of the writer are superb.

Home

We don’t see any slackness or the element of boredom from the writer or the narrator Steven Weber. This time the story starts a decade before the current time as two boys from well off families are kidnapped and at first there is a demand of ransom and then nothing. Complete silence from the kidnappers’ side horrifies the two families’ right to the core and they can think of nothing else except to wait.

Home

Tragically the wait haunts them for a decade and then finally Myron and Win get trace of one of the boys who are in his teens now. The boy is found but there are lots of questions in the mind of the people present around as who were the kidnappers and where has he been all these years. The most important question of all is that where is the other boy who was abducted the same day.

We never see such a complex plot even in Run Away and Don’t Let Go, the climax is still a real piece of art. The high drama and the thrilling sensation is at its peak in the climax and then the falling action is not exaggerated very much because it could have damaged the whole thrill.
