Each time we meet Jack Reacher he is bound to thrill us with situations that are unseen and circumstances that are almost all the time extraordinary in nature. The more Jack wants to get rid of all the fuss in the society the more he finds himself engaged in scenarios that put all the fate of the world in his hands.Lee Child in all the parts of the series has remained successful in portraying the same man in a new way as he has the habit of molding himself according to the situations.
The novel starts like the previous parts Past Tense and Killing Floor with Jack trying to isolate himself from the society and trying to enjoy life like an ordinary man, unable to decide where he should go which means that he has no motive or specific aim that he wants to achieve but all of a sudden another mission impossible type situation strike him when he is traced by an old friend from the elite unit who wants Jack back for a murder case which perhaps only he could solve.
The one murdered was the one for whom Jack served for a while in the early days of his career which means that the one who has murdered the man is not an ordinary one and the motive was also not personal. The action is more brutal this time and the rising suspense is just awesome. Dick Hill has served well as the narrator of this whole series and as a continuous listener of the series one tends to get addicted to this voice that up till now merged well with the character of Jack Reacher.
It was a decent site until Friday 2/19/21 when the pop-up proliferation began.
