Cinders & Ashes: Book 1 – A Gay Retelling of Cinderella
X.Aratare is going to take the audience on a ride where Cinderella is trying to have a different kind of true love. There are no ladies in the novel rather it is the story of two lads who fall in love and start a love story that was forbidden on the land. Finn Ashton is not fully human rather he happens to be half fae.
The land used to be suitable for humans and fae at the same time in the past but that is not the thing now. The world has changed much since the murder of the king. A fae killed the king and since then those linked to the fae kind are slaughtered or they are thrown out of the kingdom. Finn needed shelter in such a situation and he is given that safe shelter by his stepfather and stepbrothers but on the condition that he would be working as a slave for them.
The poor guy had no other option so he is living this terrible life. Edward Fox narrates the character of Prince Rohan after a while as he gets the crown after his father. Rohan gets in trouble while traveling through a forest and at this moment he gets saved by Finn. Both fall in love but they cannot share the reality of their relationship with anyone else.
Cinders & Ashes, Book 2 and Cinders & Ashes, Book 4 carry the aroma of love to a further level. The stories are for adults only because the relations in the series are a bit complicated. A young mind usually fails to digest such things at an early stage.
