Taylor Jenkins Reid takes us to the world of the 70s where Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne have found in one another the chemistry that helps them in completion of their life in each and every way. They enjoy sex, rock music and drug the most. The story also appears to be real as it hints towards a famous rock band of the 80s that became the lead band of the era before its break up.
The story starts with the description of Daisy who was in her teens in the 60s when she started drugs and other things like having sex but more than this was the rock music that was everything for her. She joined the band that was called The Six and because of her beauty, she was readily accepted by the public and made the people go wild because of her voice too. The band leader Billy and Daisy do well together and it is their couple that hit the town like an earthquake.
The story is entirely different from stories like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Evidence of the Affair by the same author this is because the characters are real and the era is wonderfully described by the writer. The development of the scenes is not from the imaginative world of the writer, they are tags related to the history of rock music and its most famous band.
There are more than one narrators in the narration department that are used and all of them like Jennifer Beals, Judy Greer, Benjamin Bratt, and Pablo Schreiber have done a splendid job in portraying different characters in the novel by providing a separate tone to them as well.
