The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three
This is the second novel of the series of the dark tower and is again about the main character Roland. The story though this time is narrated by Frank Muller. The quality of narration is nice no doubt and is helpful for the story as well.
The narrator increases the interest in the novel with the magic of his voice. The story wonderfully describes his trouble where he confronts the three doors that serve as a channel into the life of an unknown person. The two new characters are no doubt well placed in the scenes and a balance in their character and distribution of their role is also well maintained.
One character is Eddie Dean and the other is Odetta Holmes. These two characters play two roles in the story firstly they decrease the isolation of the main character and the listener feels that the character is not alone he has love at one side and friendship at the other which hint that he will succeed as he possesses the necessary ingredient for the fight against evil or the so-called the underworld of devils.
In his desire to reach the dark tower he is ready for anything, his always ready to sacrifice nature impress us and also our interest extends when we hear him comparing our world with his world again and again. The story rewind technique is the same as that was in the first part i. e The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger and no doubt it is intentional by King to make us remember the whole tale through its revision and it continues to The Dark Tower III: The Waste Lands And The Dark Tower IV: Wizard and Glass.
