Darkness on the Fens or the entire DI Nikki Galena series is based on crime mystery thriller or a police procedural with a woman leading role as in the form of a detective. It is written beautifully by Joy Ellis who managed to captivate the attention of his audience right from the 1st chapter of this series and with every novel, she is just increasing his fan base exponentially. Darkness on the Fens is chapter 10 of the DI Nikki Galena novel series. Henrietta Meire became the voice of Nikki Galena and other characters in this novel and her performance was amazing and appreciated by audience and critics.

This time, DI Nikki Galena is up against a serial killer who is on and about a poisonous mission, which pushes Nikki and her entire investigation team beyond their limit.

Revelers are coming for the yearly festival in Greenborough, which is a 3-day event that celebrates superstition, local folklore and also the darker side of life.

    Darkness on the Fens

What the public celebrating the event doesn’t know is that a serious warning was sent to police, which put Greenborough as a very dangerous place for that year. “Mors Certa, hora incerta” is the phrase with which the anonymous letter sent to the police ends with. The phrase literally means: Death is certain: the time uncertain.

Nikki soon realized that this threat was not a hoax as people in Greenborough started dying through poisonous alchol been consumed.

For the mystery book lovers, it is never a bad idea to invest time in the novels written by Joy Ellis as she is brilliant in whatever she does within mystery thriller genres. If a couple of top books from the author are to be named, then those hands down are The Murderer’s Son and Their Lost Daughters.
