Joe happens to be an ordinary man with no superpowers or psychic links with anyone. He likes his simple and ordinary life as he is quite satisfied with all of it. Suddenly one day, Joe had a troubling dream which makes no sense. Then the dreams just keep on coming in which Joe sees himself as another man in a different place and time. Life becomes confusing for him and he starts looking for answers.
During these days Joe visits his grandmother where he hears about the past of his family which was previously hidden from him. Joe’s grandmother had a sister named Alice who died long ago and she wasn’t able to marry the man of her dreams as she died before the wedding day. Joe started investigating the life of Alice and this research made him meet Kathleen who attracted him for the first look.
Joe and Kathleen came closer during their campaign and they also discover that they have some link to the story of Alice which took place fifty years ago. Karen McQuestion’s A Scattered Life and Hello Love were not very much linked to the past but here the story is knitted quite tightly with the past. It is actually the past in which the two narrators, Janet Metzger and Scott Merriman have concentrated more.
The threads of the past get connected to the love story of Joe and Kathleen. This time they have to save themselves from the tragedy which took place long ago otherwise their love story will remain incomplete once again. Their souls will have to wait for another fifty years to reunite.
