Jaevid Broadfeather is seen growing up as a refugee of wartime who is hiding from the world due to his mixed ethnic heritage. He believed that he has a hopeless future but only until when he gets a chance to encounter a dragon. He was taken to the Blybrig Academy, which is a place that is forbidden usually but the royal and rich. Lt. Sile Derrick had the reputation of a tempered man and also had a very mysterious past. He was the instructor of Jaevid who took a quick interest in the future of Jaevid. Things started to go much awry from here while the struggle continues through the tough physical demands of the training.
Jaevid scenario in every way was quite special. No dragon has voluntarily decided to have a rider in decades.
The author gave a good start to this new series. There are some exciting twists and turns that will keep you engaged throughout. The ending is just good enough to eagerly wait for the next chapter in the series.
