Fey King once given only one duty i.e to save his kingdom and protect those who are loyal to him has two tough duties now. First one is still the same but the second one is new and tougher than the first one. In order to save his bride he must help her in tackling the power that is in her right from birth. And that same power can now help him in saving his kingdom that is in great danger.
Rain the Fey King knew this inner potential of the woodcutter’s daughter and that’s why he made her his bride although the circumstances were against the wedding. But that was then and now he also loves the lady that has become a part of his life and for whom he has fought the demons he thought were tough to face. Trilogy portrays the upcoming end of the series after the battle and till this time the Fay King is losing because his bride is not ready to unleash the magic that is hidden in her.
With love getting dominance over the brain Rain is just slipping from the main focus, he for the safety of his wife can leave the state in the hands of the enemy.
Well this is not the time for this because he has all options open but when the choice would be given to him he would prefer the love of his life over his duties. C.L. Wilson the one who wrote The Winter King and The Sea King, makes this story a women dominated one by giving the steering to the woodcutter’s daughter. Emily Durante also shows more interest in narrating the queen rather than Rain the Fay King.
