Book 5 is missing so I’m going to wait before I listen to this one
Julia is a waist of a character
This is a fantastic series, the author is only one who could read this & do it justice, I absolutely love the series, however…..Jim is a door mat, a weak simp who allows everyone (especially women who have never been punched I’m the mouth after running it like the rules don’t apparently to them but did desperately need a good reality check in the mouth)to speak to him, hit him, mock had m, slander him, start rumors about him not having a dick, & treat him with levels of disrespect that would easily get you killed in our real world. No insult too disrespectful, no behaviour too foul, fuck someone in his bed? He will just tuck his balls & pride in his pocket & say nothing, he let’s the grinding incredible disrespect go on from every single person he meets from the very first book, no matter how strong or responsible he gets or what he sacrifices you can just treat or speak to him like he’s a worthless piece of shit simp & he won’t do a thing about it. I find men like that to be disgusting & beyond contempt in real life & have been struggling to get past it like you try to block out politically correct brain washing in books as long as you can but at a certain point you just can’t tolerate his bottomless pit of weakness when it comes to other people. I’m seriously hoping at some stage of this story he kicks some people out of Windfall, punches the ” princess” in the face & tells her to never be within 100 miles of him again & becomes a man you can actually respect. He won’t even stand up for the people he claims to care deeply for when they are being abused & attacked constantly & instead stays silent which no normal person would do, another thing that makes you lose all respect for him. He just keeps his mouth shut no matter what’s happening & to whom & let’s the abuse roll, that’s not a hero, let alone a man worthy of respect. Also the fact that he needlessly keeps his origin & fact that he is married with kids a secret is stupid & has been from the first book & doesn’t make sense & needlessly complicates the story. Aside from that the story is great, lets hope Jim can stop being a pathetic door mat simp who is incapable of standing up for himself or the people he claims to care for eventually or this will be a slog.
