Gwenda was looking for the perfect house for herself so that she can shift in permanently. After searching all over the town, Gwenda finally found the best place for herself. The new house was just perfect according to location and size. The most important thing was the affordable price that she had to pay for that awesome house. The house needed some improvements from the inside and Gwenda thought that it was not much of a problem for her.
She thought that she could improve the interior of the house within a few days with the help of some extra money. However after decorating or refurnishing the house, the woman still thought that there was something strange about the house. The stairs frightened her more than anything and it seemed that there was an old ghost living in that building with her. When the panic increased, the woman was left with no other choice but to call Miss Marple for help.
Marple has not solved ghost stories in her past missions in The Body in the Library and A Murder Is Announced but she knows that where there is a ghost, there is a dead body too. Gwenda and Marple start looking for things and soon they find out that they are going to uncover something really vicious. Agatha Christie’s writing will scare those with weak hearts at this point.
Stephanie Cole has also tried to keep the creepiness alive through narration so the terror will force you to squeeze into bed a little. It is not a horror story but the suspense is ample for all the adults in the house.
