The Return of the King is the third and final chapter in The Lord of the Rings novel series. It is mainly fantasy fiction. However, you will find it dominated by certain other elements such as action, adventure, and drama.
This book is a work of J. R. R. Tolkien. He was one of the most cherished English authors of his time, whose literary legacy shall remain for a long time.
The best fantasy fiction experience for the listeners will come if you listen to all three chapters of The Lord of the Rings together. If you are convinced then The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers are the other two books of the series.
Andy Serkis continued with his exemplary narration in the series. Once again, you will find him at his usual best. His soulful voice will transport all of the listeners into the Middle Earth while making them all feel as if they were part of the story as well.
In this last chapter of the series, the audience will find the Dark Lord’s armies amassing while the range of his evil shadow extended much wider. It was not only Men but the Elves, Dwarves, and the Ents who united their forces so that they could battle against the Dark. In the meantime, you will again find Sam and Frodo struggling big time into the Mordor with their heroic expedition to completely terminate the One Ring.
The Return of the King is a story of redemption. It is a quality or a capacity that very few members of the Fellowship possessed. J. R. R. Tolkien is truly a genius with his excellent imagination and putting things into words in such an amazing way. You couldn’t have asked for any better conclusion to the series than what you will experience in The Return of the King.
