The horror is so much enhanced by the words that we start feeling it with our every following breath. The story is about a trapped ship that remains stuck for two years with no hope for survival but that is not what terrorizes the crew and its captain there are certain evils that surrounds the ship eating one member at a time that makes the whole situation more miserable.

    The Terror

This evil makes them fear death which they know will come in one way or the other as their ship sinks deeper in the frozen ocean and their provisions changed into poison but they still don’t want a death at the hands of the beast that waits for them in the growing darkness calculating and analyzing their every move and then enjoying the slaughter one by one.

The emergence of the new captain Crozier after the death of Sir John Franklin does not change the fate of the crew at all. The words used by the writer surely increase the terror and the narration of John Lee adds spice to it, it seems as if we have entered a nightmare the moment we start listening to the story. One can even feel the horrifying death approaching the sailors after listening the whole thing for a while.

Love the horror, look for more stories to listen to including Dark Sacred Night – Michael Connelly and  Shadow – Jan Stryvant.
