This third series of the Island in the Sea of Time is a good continuation, filled with all-around action from the beginning till the end. It begins in the ninth year after the change, as the inexplicable events that occurred, making all types of electronics unusable. They just had to go back to the medieval age when all of these things were practically nonexistent. However, this time the inhabitants are all knowledgeable. This explains where there are incessant conflicts between the various parties on the control of resources. Two war sides fight for position and power, each trying to outdo the other in every way possible.
Action climaxed when war erupted between Bearkillers, Mackenzies and the Arminger’s Protectorate troops. The rest of the book I filled with the intricate events and battles between the parties If you love action, you will see it clearly from the second quarter of the book. The Mackenzie clan, as well as the guerilla fighters, make things even more interesting. They jostle for almost everything, as each of the fractions fights for food, power, and supremacy in the new world.
The intrigues and counterplots for supremacy make this book an interesting read for anyone who loves action-packed adventure books.
Just like the previous books, S. M. Stirling presented this book in an easy to understand manner. Although it’s the third book, a first time ready will find it easy to follow without much confusion. This is surely an improvement on the trilogy. Although it’s bulky, the author made sure the suspense is steady and intense throughout the book. The narration is also in line with the characters represented in the book.
