All the Skills, Book 2
After falling for Jake’s Magical Market, I took a chance on the deckbuilding litRPG All the Skills – and loved it just as much. Book 2 continues the momentum, cementing this genre as a new favorite. However, a lack of major goals for the MC is concerning. Late reveals about his family’s past battles against seven evil “Scourge Gods” hint at a grand mission to gather legendary cards and finish what they started. I hope this mythic quest will drive future books.
The excellent writing and ruthless, cunning MC keep me engaged, though his power grows slower than I’d like. The constant trickery to win fights feels cheap at times; I’m invested in the MC dominating, not squeaking by! Still, the single lead and smart progression stay strong.
Overall, another great installment in a series I hope book 3 continues quickly. All the Skills combines the thrill of deckbuilding with litRPG progression and snappy writing. A few quibbles exist, but the MC has ample potential for growth. I’m excited to see where this remarkable necromancer’s journey leads against mystical foes, provided the end goal soon crystallizes.
Book 3 came out today! I’m so exited! Can you post it please?
