Three different characters are witnessed at three different situations in life at the opening of the story but later we realize that all three of them share the same passion. Their life is different but not their aim and enthusiasm. The first one is Bobby Dodge who is a sniper and is ready to shoot at a man who has abducted a family. Bobby has no chance of making a mistake as an error of a split second and a single miss can make him lose the whole family he is trying to rescue.
The terrible thing is that he is not with a clear mind about the mission; doubts stop him from pulling the trigger. The second character is of a beautiful lady who during her childhood was abducted and abused and still she has those nightmares that haunt her all the time. Unfortunately she lost her husband as well whose father still thinks that Catherine has murdered his son.
The third and the strangest one of all is the criminal that has survived the isolation in a prison because of his ill doings and he is free. All of these three characters have haunted past and still they are ready to go on with their nightmares. Lisa Gardner quite nicely joins the path of the three characters and the feelings are told in an awesome style. Feeling of loneliness can really give a creepy feeling to anyone who is studying it.
Anna Fields too has tried to keep the sense of isolation and mental confusion alive. The book can be read along with Find Her and Touch & Go to know in a better way about the style of the writer and the suspense that the writer inculcates in most of her tales. Thrill too is always there but the primary focus has always been suspense.
