Believe Me is a masterly crafted novel by JP Delaney. The author, JP Delaney is good with his amazing writing skills and gives every reason to the literary book lovers to try and read/ listen his novels as well. If you are thinking on the same lines then the novels like The Girl Before and Playing Nice from the author would make a really lovely read. The Girl Before novel also became the best-selling novel of the author in New York Times.
Just like several other novels from the author, this one also has a team of narrators which almost always works for her novel. It did worked yet again and the audience just loved the performance. The narrators in the performer’s list include Sally Scott, Lorelei King, Matt Reeves, John Chancer and Eric Meyers.
The story in this novel is about Claire who is a Britain in America but doesn’t have a Green Card. She is a struggling actor and she need work in order to make her ends meet. Then she finally gets both but not just as she would have expected. Claire agreed in becoming a lure for a firm of divorce lawyers. She was specifically hired by the firm to trap all the straying husbands that she could. She was told to catch them all on camera while they are in their seductive propositions.
The book is a fantastic psychological thriller. You are thinking all the time that you know everything and what’s coming but the very next moment, it turns out to be completely opposite. This guessing thing keeps this novel alive right till the end and makes it a beautiful read as well.
