Big Man
The story by Penny Wylder surely tells the story of a city girl who is helpless in the society that is dominated by male members. She is 25 which shows that she wants a perfect match for her and who could be better than a sturdy countryman who too wants her badly but the depute of land comes in their way as the land that her mother left for her is illegally under the control of Grant Werther.
The confusion develops in a huge way that what she wants the most, the land that her mother left with a promise that she would keep it in the same way and will treasure the memories or the man of her dreams whom she cannot resist. Grant Werther’s clear intentions toward her for physical pleasure depicts a typical sturdy villager in him who never hides his feelings and who is not good at showing sentiments towards the girls. The nature of a young girl is beautifully described who cannot say no to sex temptations and wild dreams about when who can show their physicality in a relationship.
Grant Werther’s teasing is also a strategy of men which they usually adapt to press women so that they can be brought to subjection. The material aspect is surely there in the whole story whether it is in the form of an uncontrollable lust of physical pleasures or the tactics to get hold of each other’s property in a huge way. The narrators Jillian Goldman and Jack Wesley have done a wonderful job by describing not only two characters but two different lifestyles the urban and the rural in form of two sexes.
