There are some police procedural as well along with the progress of the story that appear to be a little time consuming for most of the people but it was needed in order to give a reality touch. The secret however reveals itself in a bit later stage when we are told about Ella-Loo and Darryl her boyfriend in a detailed version. The wild dreams of this couple make them choose the evil way and it is a coincidence that the first letter of their names is also E and D. Susan Ericksen goes on with that low soothing voice and the narrator never tries to stretch the vocal cords beyond their limit.
