Clockwork Century comes to the trilogy in the voice of Kate Reading, although the stories have been developing in the same pattern they have been different at the same time. Each story Cherie Priest glitters like a pearl in the minds of the fans forever. The start, climax, and the ending just touch our hearts and soul all the time and we cannot resist the temptation of books like Boneshaker and Clementine. Another woman gets introduced in the novel and once again she is not the bloodthirsty war machine rather the woman is an ordinary nurse. She takes care of the wounded and their dirty laundry in the war situation.
Just when Mercy thought that she was in a terrible situation more terrible news come to her. During the fight between the Union and the Confederate, her husband perishes badly and her father’s chances of survival also become grim after getting badly injured. She can collect the dead body of her husband whenever she likes now so instead of going to a dead body she decides to meet her dying father.
Going from one city to another Mercy finally gets the train ticket which would take her to her dying father in his last moments. Train ticket however proves to be bad news for the nurse when it is attacked by the armies from both sides. There is something in the carriages of the train which the armies from both sides want. All Mercy wants is to see the train on track going to the place where her father is taking his last breath. Race against time makes an ordinary nurse perform miracles here for her survival.
