Looking into the mind of a serial killer is never easy because the person does not allow you to understand what is going on in his brain. He keeps you guessing about his next moves so that he can toy with your mind all the time. Benjamin Fisher is that kind of a killer but there is a new thing now i.e he has shown his intent to hand himself to the police.
For this, he is also ready to take detective Daniel Ellis to the graveyard where he has buried all of his victims. Over the years no one has been able to catch Fisher red handed including his daughter who herself is in the FBI now.
Reni is not psychologically healthy because she has been the one through which her father used to trap those women whom he has killed. Reni thinks that her father is not mentally normal and there are things that he is still hiding from everyone. Moreover, Reni does not want to confront those evils which she has tried to leave behind. Daniel is interested in the case because he thinks that his mother was also killed by Fisher and now he wants to reach the bottom of the case.
Anne Frasier has amazed millions with The Body Reader and The Body Counter so writing another like that was never impossible for the author. For a narrator like Erin Bennett, it was easy to handle all the emotions and melodrama because the narrator has a lot of experience under his belt. If you think that getting to the end abruptly will be fun then it is incorrect because you can enjoy the end only if you listen to every aspect of this story.
