A fight between the demons and the humans is what the story is all about really but some twists and turns make it interesting for the reader especially for those who have read the first volume of the book by Michael Todd. We meet Katie Maddison once gain who was once leading a normal life when suddenly she finds herself fighting with demons and more amazingly winning from them as well a talent that she thought she never had.
She gains so much in the field that she is praised like a legend who teaches the art of fighting demons to humans but inwardly there are some personal issues that she is fighting with. The story really takes a twist when Katie starts her journey for a weapon that could prove to be the perfect demon killer and could decide the battle forever. There is only one family on the land that could help her construct the weapon, an ancient family related to the art of blacksmith and expert in forging weapons.
One problem after the other rise for the characters that make the story complex than it first appears to be. Along with the fight against the demons, a fight against the government also starts as the government wants the weapon for its own hidden agendas. Katie’s truce with Pandora is another thing that she always carries with her in her mind.
The story has action, fantasy and also an element of terror in it because we are constantly told that an evil is soon going to be unleashed upon the world, an evil that none would be able to contain. The use of the worlds and the scenes are all wonderful.
