Sorcha did save her brothers in the first part and got the love that she needed so much in life in the form of a perfect husband. The second generation is now emerging to the scene as Sorcha’s daughter had become a beautiful young lady ready to fill in the shoes of her brave mother. Love of Sorcha brought the two nations together who have been indulged in a fight for a long time. Peace was established and with it, the girl was able to rescue her six brothers too but the rescue was somehow not complete.
Her stepmother changed her brothers into swans and it took a hard toil to change them back to human form. Things still are incomplete and evil forces are gathering to disturb the peace once again that Socha established in Daughter of the Forest. Liadan thinks of all of it as her responsibility now so she takes on the challenge in this second part by Juliet Marillier.
The destiny of the sevenwaters clan is Liadan’s to fulfill, if she fails all the work of her mother and father would be ruined. Just like her mother, the girl has a problem too i.e she is looking for true love which could fill the emptiness in her heart. But that same love can destroy her and her family so she has to be careful. Problem is that one cannot remain careful when he or she enters the ocean of love.
Good job by the narrator Rosalyn Landor, she was not there in the first part so it was tough to understand the concept at first but she has done well. The next stop is Child of the Prophecy and there are clear indications by the author i.e the series is not a trilogy at all. Fans should fasten their seatbelts; it’s going to be a very long and exciting ride for everyone who got himself loaded in the first part.
