The novel is a contemporary science fiction, which of course has many followers in the literary fraternity. It is excellently written by James Swallow. The narration of this novel is a big positive, which is done effortlessly by Jonathan Keeble.

The story in this novel revolves around Death Guard Captain Garro. He goes on to seize the ship and also set a course right after for Terra in order to warn the Emperor about the treachery of Warmaster Horus. All this happened after witnessing the appalling annihilation of the Imperial armed forces over Isstvan III.

At the time when the absconding Eisenstein gets seriously damaged by the fire of enemy, it became stranded in the warp. It was then all about the real of the shadowy and very Dark Powers. The question arises that can Garro along with all his men be able to sustain the depredations of Chaos? Moreover, is it also a possibility for Garro to get his due warning to reach the Emperor and that too, before the plans of Horus reach fruition?

You will be inspired with this novel having some really rich language and the extremely detailed descriptions of the things that matters in making this novel a complete one. The collage of the powerful voice of the narrator and characters is a thing par excellence that you will witness in this novel and would love it for sure as well. As per a few reviews, Rogal Dorn narration could be slightly better, but overall, it was exceptional.

A couple of powerful other novels from James Swallow that you should interact with are Faith & Fire and Age of Darkness.
