Narrator Susan Duerden is chosen to narrate this novel full of the heat of love. Love is surely something worth fighting for in our life. Sometimes love makes the weakest person, strong enough to stand against the odds. There is not only a sense of achievement in love but there is also passion which brings excitement to the dull life of a person. Julie Garwood has always tried to arouse that passion in the audience through stories like The Wedding and Hotshot which showed the true sparks of love.
Good thing is that the love is not on one side at any moment, we can see the sparks rising from both sides on every occasion. Judith never had the chance to experience love at any stage in her life. She never met the father who left her mother when Judith was born. One thing which Judith has cared about after that is her loyalty to the people she holds dear.
She does not want to be like her father who left the love of her life without any reason. When Judith’s old friend gives birth to a child, she decides to pay a visit to her friend’s house in the highland. Actually, Judith wanted to meet her father through this journey as she wanted him the answers to several questions which she had in mind right from her childhood.
Judith never planned to fall in love on the way but such things don’t happen according to plans. The man who was taking her to the highlands was as hot as a cake and she was ready to take a bite. The man was the head of his clan and he had all the qualities which Judith needed in a husband.
