There are multiple stories of love and romance, usually present in bookstores and these books have the love stories of a man and a woman. The love depicted in this novel is different because the romance arouses in a different way here. A.J. Fikry wasn’t looking for romance or love because he had everything in his grasp.
Being the owner of the Island Books i.e the only bookstore on Alice Island, Fikry was already famous and his love for books was known to all. In his house, he had a loving wife who had been a source of inspiration and motivation for him. Then his wife died all of a sudden because of some illness and he felt a little down in spirit. After a few days, an incident took place in the bookstore after which a rare book was also stolen from the store.
People of the town thought that Fikry was losing it all slowly and soon there will come a time when he will lose the bookstore as well. One evening when Fikry was closing the bookstore, he found a little girl standing in the children’s section. The child had a note stuck on her doll. Her mother wrote the note and it was written that she wanted the child to be in a place where people love books.
Gabrielle Zevin brings a twist to the story and gives new life to the main character through the character of the child. Young Jane Young and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow showed how the ideal world of imagination can be achieved by an individual. Scott Brick has narrated approximately the same kind of situation here in which the owner of the bookstore suddenly starts feeling the positive energy flowing into his body.
