Josie Silver’s two life concept is more of a war between the past and present, though in the story the concept is taken much further but still we think that the past was just a symbol. Lydia the girl with an ideal man to move around with thinks of herself as a blessed being before the emergence of the tragedy in her life.

Gift on her twenty eighth birthday was too big for her to handle because it was death of her soul mate. Freddie died and the love life ended in a tragedy but that was not all, after Freddie’s death Lydia was all over the place. It was not that she wanted to commit suicide like the eighty’s heroine but still she failed to enjoy life.

The Two Lives of Lydia Bird

Then as a positive gesture she started telling herself what Freddie would want her to do in such a situation. So she plans for a recreational trip with Jonah and Elle that proves fruitful to her because she falls in love again.

At this spot when she tries to resettle, she starts dreaming about Freddie and the dreams start becoming real, Freddie wants her in the past and the new love of her life wants her in the real world. It’s up to her to choose between the two lovers and the life that she prefers to live. One Day in December was awesome by Josie but this one cannot be explained in ordinary words, the main girl is caught up not between two boys but between her past and present. If you have heard Olivia Vinall before than pick this book without a second thought because the narration will grip you like magic.
