Naomi Novik writes the finale of the Temeraire saga with glossy words. The story finally tests the true friendship of the dragon and a human. Also the zeal of Captain Will Laurence proves that he was a true patriot all these years.
This can be considered as a continuation of the previous part Empire of Ivory as the same voyage continues and the search for the cure goes on. With the dragons the Britain army had power now they just have hope which too is disappearing.
The enemy is strengthening it’s strangle hold on the shores of the land and once the establish camps it would be the final showdown that will take everything with it. Moreover a tragedy occurs with the rescue pair as Captain Will Laurence and the mighty dragon Temeraire are considers traitors in their own land. The two not only run from the enemy but also try to save themselves from the army of their native land as well.
The resources are thus cut short but still Will and the mighty dragon try to get the job done. Because this proves to be the only way they can gain their dignity back and save their country as well, whatever is left of it. The novel ends with a tremendous fight that was expected right from the first part but the hype that the writer has given it is really great.
The up and down in the fight and the struggle of the Captain and his dragon really make the series appealing to the mind. Simon Vance the narrator too has been one of the reasons of attraction from the first part portrays the finale beautifully in his magical voice.
