The action just keeps on coming in the series and keeps us bind with it all the time. The stories are not in series form as J.D. Robb weaves each tale with a separate crime scene. Eve is away there as a permanent part but the file in her hand changes each time and we see her busy in different murder cases. The series thus can be read as single book as each one is a separate novel with an ending that amazes us all the time. It’s a love triangle that comes to us this time in the trilogy.
The woman who has been killed this time is not an ordinary one; she was a model of first rank with everything in her grasp all the time. It was not only fame that she always wanted to have but men as well that could soothe her for some time. This time it was a married man that she was after and got it of course after which death got her finally. The suspect this time is Eve’s best friend and again the case becomes a nightmare for her.
In the first two parts Naked in Death and Glory in Death Eve was concerned about Roarke and now it’s her best friend. During the case Eve also unlocks the hidden secrets of the underworld that provides drugs to the people who want to remain young forever. Thus the showbiz and underworld are proved to be deeply rooted in one another.
The glamour world is narrated in a bit peculiar way at the start by Susan Ericksen but then she blends her voice well towards the middle.
