If a person is looking for a series that provides maximum enjoyment in the minimal time, this is the book he should start. Book opens up with the issue that haunts the governments all over the world these days i.e global warming. Global warming is increasing problems for the people of the world and these problems are not going anywhere. Despite of the efforts from both sides the problem is there to stay for eternity. Peter F. Hamilton discusses it not for the solution but to add another thing in the misery of mankind that is struck by war. Companies all over the world are making huge offers that look ridiculous to some but there is no other way except to utilize the offer.
Among many there is one named Greg Mandel, whose life has been spent playing with weapons of mass destruction. The man fears nothing but like every soldier he has the fear of failure that haunts him every now and then. With the rising greed for power among the cartels all over the world, the peace of the world is under great threat.
All the corrupt or greedy gangs including governments of some countries are after the power source that is recently found. Between all of this stands Greg with the responsibility to maintain balance and peace at any rate. Peter created The Reality Dysfunction and The Neutronium Alchemist before this one, those books were also about the rise in power. Only difference between that series and this is the villains that were aliens in the previous series. Toby Longworth’s voice is soldier like in narration which was not quite needed required but it did fine.
