Josie has faced demons and this time the devil himself has come on earth to vanquish innocent girls. Just an ordinary morning becomes the doom’s day for Nysa Somers when she gets drowned in the swimming pool. It was an accident for the public but Josie, it was another cleverly planned crime scene. Nysa was not an ordinary girl, she was the best swimmer in the town and with no enemies at all this could probably be the beginning of a devilish scheme. Nothing was found around her except for some wrappers and her mobile phone.
Then during the investigation, another house catches fire and soon the girls of the town start seeing death on their doorsteps. No one is safe and Josie tries to track the killer alone because Noah is nowhere to be found. She is seen calling him again and again but he just does not answer her phone calls. Josie is also dead sure that the wrappers near Nysa’s body were very important but someone near her has made this important evidence disappear. Playing with fire Josie moves ahead in the case and confronts death very closely this time.
Lisa Regan has shown desperation in Josie’s personality during Her Silent Cry and Cold Heart Creek and this case makes her scared completely. Kate Handford does the rest as she proves herself a real master in narrating the characters according to their feelings described in the novel. Each one present in the story whether it was the villain or the heroic team of Josie got the correct accent and style in narration like always.
