This is a book that comes with the title of a thriller but doesn’t take it as a scary one because it is written by Alyssa Cole. The author received a lot of praise from the audience after the creation of The A.I. Who Loved Me and A Princess in Theory so it was expected that he would come up with the same kind of classic creation later on. Susan Dalian and Jay Aaseng are new to this series because they have not narrated the previous part.
A few of the old fans thought that the narrators would not be up to the mark but these two have proved that notion wrong. This is a love story like the previous novels but the romance cannot be felt in the air rather there is a fear which brings terror to the surface.
Sydney Green has been living in Brooklyn since the day she was born and she has seen no change in the world around her. However, for the last few months, she observes a serious change in her surroundings. The people around her start to leave the locality and there are new faces in the area where she has spent most part of her life.
While on a walk down the street, Sydney meets Theo who happens to be one of the neighbors and both show their concern for this change that is taking place in society. Soon they get startled when their investigation leads them to a strange conclusion. It appears that someone is actually kicking the people out of society and they are not leaving rather they are disappearing. If Theo and Sydney don’t do anything then there is a chance that they are next on the list.
